AUB Summit on AI: Meet Quebec Research Fund, our Scientific Partner
Grouped under the name “Quebec Research Fund” (FRQ), the three Funds – Nature and Technologies, Health and Society and Culture – have independent missions and boards of directors.
The central structure of the Quebec Research Funds is designed to provide strong leadership in supporting and promoting research in Quebec.
Their mission is to promote and financially support research, the mobilisation of knowledge and the training of researchers in Quebec, as well as to establish the partnerships needed to accomplish their mission.
The central structure of the Quebec Research Funds was created on July 1, 2011 by Law 1305 aimed at restructuring the three Quebec granting funds (FRQS, FRQCS, FRQNT).
The Act modified the structure of the Funds by integrating the administrative services of the three Funds and creating the position of Scientific Director (one for each Fund) and Chief Scientist.
The Chief Scientist's mandate is to ensure the operation of the Funds in collaboration with the Scientific Directors of each Fund.
