The Director General of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), Grégoire Ndjaka, has extended warm congratulations to the China Media Group (CMG) and its affiliates on the occasion of the Chinese New Year, commending the strong and productive partnership between the two institutions.
In a message sent on behalf of the AUB President and the Union’s 85 member organizations across Africa, Mr. Ndjaka praised the “exemplary, dynamic, and constructive” cooperation maintained throughout the past year. He noted that joint initiatives with CMG and CCTV Video News Agency (CCTV+) have played a significant role in strengthening Africa-China media relations and fostering greater mutual understanding between their peoples.
The Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, is the most important celebration in China. Marked this year on February 17, the festival was inscribed just over a year ago on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, underscoring its global cultural significance.
In his New Year message, the AUB Director General expressed best wishes for health and prosperity to the leadership and staff of China Media Group and CCTV+, while reflecting on the achievements of the past year. He highlighted the positive impact of collaboration in areas such as content exchange, media cooperation, and people-to-people engagement.
Mr. Ndjaka also noted that 2025 holds particular importance for the AUB as it marks the Union’s 20th anniversary. He emphasized that this milestone provides an opportunity to look to the future and further consolidate the strategic partnership with China Media Group, especially in priority areas such as training, co-production, and media innovation.
Reaffirming AUB’s commitment to deepening cooperation, the Director General expressed confidence that the partnership would continue to contribute to intercultural dialogue, peace, and the strengthening of relationship between China and African countries.
He concluded by wishing China Media Group and its partners a successful year filled with new opportunities and continued collaboration.
