Cameroon to play first semi-finals against Morocco in the history of CHAN

Thanks to two claw scratches from Yannick Ndjeng and Oukiné Tcheoude, the Indomitable Lions defeated the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the quarterfinals of the sixth edition of CHAN, played on Saturday January 30, 2021, at Japoma stadium in Douala.

Everything started well for the Leopards of the DRC, who scored the game’s opening goal in the 21st minute through Makabi Lilepo from a corner kick.

The wounded Lions went to great lengths to stop this domination by equalizing in the 29th minute.

Driven by an excited crowd of Japoma, the colts of Martin Ndtoungou, Cameroon’s coach, multiplied opportunities, before finding the way to the goals in the 41st minute. Final score of the match: DRC 1-2 Cameroon.

For the first time in the history of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), Cameroon will play the semi-finals against Morocco who defeated Zambia 3-1 on sunday, January 31, 2021.
