CAF and AUB held assessment meeting on the exploitation of Afcon 2019 Tv rights

As part of the commercialization of the Afcon 2019 and other CAF Events’ rebroadcast rights, the African Football Confederation (CAF) organized in collaboration with the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB), an evaluation meeting on Wednesday, 29 May 2019, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dakar, Senegal.

The CAF delegation was led by Barrister Augustine Senghor, CAF’s Executive Committee member, who is also president of the Senegalese Football Federation (SFF). The CAF’s Marketing & Tv Director, Abdel Bah was also part of the Cairo delegation.

From the outset, CAF’s Special Envoy welcomed the holding of this assessment meeting, the first of its kind in Dakar, since the announcement of the results of the call for tenders launched by the Confederation for the marketing of Afcon 2019, 2021 and other CAF events covering the period 2019-2023, acquired by the AUB.

"It was important for us to have this working session. We’ve taking note of the efforts so far made by the AUB in the process of exploiting the Afcon 2019 Tv rights and the challenges faced the Union. At the end of this meeting the Executive council will have a feedback-back", Barr. Augustine Senghor declared.

"We urge the President to convey our gratitude to all members of the CAF’s Executive Committee and its President, Mr Ahmad Ahmad for the choice placed on AUB regarding this process. We will not deceive you”, the Director General of the African Union of Broadcasting, disclosed.

The CAF’s meeting comes few days after a capacity-building seminar organized by the AUB in Dakar from May 21 to 23, 2019; for the benefit of Marketing, Programs and Legal Affairs Directors of the Union’s member organizations.
