AUB honored for its Content Exchange Network

The newly launched Content Exchange Network of the African Union of Broadcasting has stepped up. The Union's platform for promoting and sharing African audiovisual contents was distinguished for its dynamism and the relevance of its productions.

The award ceremony took place on the sidelines of the Networks’ Continental Coordinators Meeting, held in Algiers from 20 to 24 February 2019, in the presence of the Minister for Communication of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Mr Djamel Kaouane.

Mr Grégoire Ndjaka, Director General of the AUB, received the distinction from the hands of Mr A. Souleymane, the Secretary General of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU). He was accompanied for the occasion by Mrs Audrey Kamsu, the AUB focal point, in charge of the Content Exchange Network.

AUB’s African Content Exchange Network was launched in January 2019. To date, more than 600 audiovisual contents have been uploaded on the platform. The best contributor, that is to say, the country which has provided the highest number of audiovisual productions in the Sub-Saharan French-speaking Africa, is Senegal. In the English-speaking zone, Zambia tops the lead. The productions available on the AUB's Content Exchange Network address a variety of topics in the fields of sports, economy, arts and culture, politics, science and entertainment. They are presented in magazine, news or documentary production formats.
