The AUB Delegation Meets with CAF President

On 21 January 2018, a delegation of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) met the President of the African Football Confederation (CAF), Mr. Ahmad Ahmad.


The meeting took olace at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Casablanca and brought together AUB's Director General, Mr. Grégoire Ndjaka, Mrs. Keitirele Mathapi, Director General of the Botswana Broadcasting Services, Mr. Racine Talla, Director General of Senegalese Radio Television (RTS), Mr. Emmanuel Wongibe , Deputy Director General of the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), Mr. Georges Lomotey of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and CAF officials.


On the occasion, the two parties discussed issues of common interest, namely media coverage of the African Football Championships by AUB Member Organizations.


In the same vein, AUB and CAF officials dwelled on issues related to the training of technicians, journalists and other communicators involved in the coverage of sporting events in Africa.


At the end of this very first meeting with the current CAF President, AUB's Director General declared that a training and capacity building program for technicians and sports journalists would soon be put in place. The said program would enter its active phase in the course of the year 2018.
