History

The African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) was created on 30th October 2006 during the 43rd and final session of the Union of National Radios and Televisions of Africa (URTNA)'s General Assembly in Abuja, Nigeria.

From that day onwards, the organisation was transformed into a new Union called African Union of Broadcasting, in French, Union Africaine de Radiodiffusion (UAR).

The role of this leading African Broadcasting organization is to promote and empower the sons and daughters of the continent through quality Radio and TV programmes.

The AUB is resolutely opened to African Diasporas and contributes in enriching the quality of life of Africans and revealing the real image of Africa.

To achieve its goals, the AUB needs support from all those who want to see the Broadcasting Industry grow in Africa. This will therefore be a major achievement in a democratic environment in constant evolution.

At the AUB, most of the time is devoted to project design, marketing, partnerships, negotiations, training of media professionals and of course, coverage of sports and cultural events.

In conducting these activities, the AUB's actions are guided by three principles:

Bringing together African broadcasters and partners so as to enable them  contribute in improving the quality of life and portray the real image of the continent.

Support the development of the continent and African's quality of life through the dissemination of excellent programs; and provide services for Africa and the African diasporas.
